Matt O’Hern interviews Marketing Leaders at MPlanet Conference
As a guest blogger at Mplanet 2009, I was privileged to interview Professor Jerry Wind about the role social networks play in modern marketing.Yoram (Jerry) Wind, is the Academic Director of Wharton Fellows Program and the SEI Center for advanced studies. Another marketing mastermind I met at while I was a guest blogger at Mplanet2009, hosted by the American Marketing Association,was McDonalds CMO Marketer Mary Dillon,who humbly admitted she has a lot to learn about social networks. Dillon was the only corporate executive who devoted time exclusively for bloggers. Throughout the interview, Dillon fielded questions from a panel of marketing bloggers curious to learn about McDonalds’ appraisal of social networking as a new and innovative marketing method. I thoroughly enjoyed both interviews and I gained a few insights from listening to their perspectives, particularly Professor Wind and his take on the future role of blogs and forums on major corporate sites.
