User-Generated Content Defined In Plain English

in-plain-englishUser-Generated Content consists of original works from bloggers, including video, text and photos. For example, anytime you decide to upload a video from your family vacation and post it on Youtube, you’re adding user-generated content to youtube.com.

Another example is Flickr, a photo hosting and sharing social network. Anytime you add your personal or professional photos to Flickr, you’re adding user-generated content. The same is true for text with blogs or social networks.

Any original writing you type and post to WordPress, Blogger or any other blog, is user-generated content. Google’s search engine ranking algorithm includes a user-generated content factor. In other words, the more content you produce and the more often you create it, the higher you rank for one of Google’s evaluations.
